Fishing Events

Join us for group fishing adventures at Lake Tahoe and along the Truckee River. Whether you're experienced or just starting out, our outings are a great way to enjoy the water, learn new skills, and connect with fellow anglers.

Rules & Expectations

  • Fishing license required – All participants must have a valid fishing license
  • Respect local regulations – Follow all posted rules for catch limits, species, and gear restrictions.
  • Practice good sportsmanship – Be courteous to fellow anglers, share space, and follow any guidance from event organizers.
  • Catch & release or keep responsibly – Follow club and local policies regarding which fish can be kept.
  • Leave no trace – Clean up after yourself and help keep the riverbanks and lakeshores pristine.
  • Be punctual – Arrive on time for group meetups, as some spots may require hiking in or carpooling.
  • Safety first – Wear appropriate gear, stay hydrated, and inform a leader if you're leaving the area early. 

What To Bring

  • Valid fishing license 
  • Fishing rod & reel 
  • Tackle and bait – Bring your own or ask ahead for recommendations
  • Polarized sunglasses 
  • Waders or waterproof boots – Non-slip shoes also work
  • Hat and sunscreen 
  • Water & snacks 
  • Clothing layers – Bring appropriate clothing for given weather conditions
  • Small pack or gear bag 
  • Optional: Net, forceps, extra line, insect repellent
  • *Note* - If you do not own gear, let a member know ahead of time and we can help provide any missing items

    At this time, fishing events are planned on a TBD basis, with details and invitations typically sent out about one month in advance. Dates and event formats may vary based on range availability, member interest, and weather conditions. Be sure to check your email or the MemberDay portal regularly for the latest updates.
